About Flagship Films
It was at the club in 1979 that I teamed up with Paul Miley and formed FM Films. We produced three documentaries and one period costume drama. Every Craftsmans Dream - about the Mary Ford Cake Artistry Centre in Southbourne - won the Canadian International Amateur Film Festival’s award for Best Documentary, Best Colour Photography and second Best in Festival. Kitty Jay, the costume drama, won the Kodak award for Best Colour Photography in the annual competition, the Ten Best of 1983. In 1986 I started sailing the high seas aboard various cruise ships as ship’s photographer; a position I held for 6 years. Over the past 16 years I have sold tours to the cruise ship guests. In the limited free time I had, I would take the camera out in port and document various parts of the world; Alaska being my favourite. I love being behind a camera and being able to compose in the viewfinder and represent visually what I was seeing in a positive and energetic way. I have very recently been commissioned by various tour companies in Alaska who require video material of their tours; something that I am working on at present. I met my partner, Sugeng, on cruise ships; we now enjoy working together on terra firma. |
